With a passion for using the landscape as a teaching tool, Carrie designs spaces that promote public health by offering opportunities for recreation, education and interaction. She has expertise in managing complex projects, quickly zooming from the big picture to the finest detail and navigating process with confidence. In addition to practice, Carrie is a member of CLARB’s Leadership Advisory Council, chaired the CLARB Technical Exam Writing Committee and taught construction detailing at UC Berkeley Extension. She is a founding partner of Plural and her dedication, social skills, and empathy are invaluable assets to our studio and our clients.

Scott enlivens his collaborations with enthusiasm and wit. He is committed to making resilient places that bring people together and that build social capital in our cities and neighborhoods. He begins with listening, approaching each project with an emphasis on understanding place through the lens of its past and present culture. In addition to practice, Scott teaches design at UC Berkeley. He is a founding partner of Plural and brings over ten years of experience as a Principal, leading the design, management, and construction of complex projects. Scott’s leadership chops and sense of humor buoy our studio.

With a background in environmental horticulture and urban forestry, Kevin understands the importance of nature in our city; and as a former designer for San Francisco's Public Works, he knows how to implement and foster it. An accomplished landscape photographer, Kevin brings his keen eye to design, balancing experimentation and pragmatism. He also experiments in the kitchen, exploring international cultures through food. His collaborative spirit and openness to ideas make working with him a delight to our team and to our collaborators.

Toni Toscano

As a landscape architect, planner, urban designer, artist, and photographer, Toni approaches her practice with a wide angle. Like her photography, she composes spaces with careful attention to the play of light and framed views, while crafting simple designs with moments of whimsy. She finds inspiration in each site’s unique history and finds innovative ways of telling those stories in the forms and materials of her designs. We’re thrilled to have her back in California after five years of working in Texas. She brings her experience and her “y’all” with her.

Daphne Caron

Daphne brings a can-do spirit, a sense of humor, and good vibes to our studio. Prior to joining Plural, she worked in food system education and academic research. She also practiced at a variety of firms in both San Francisco and Florida, gaining experience on project types ranging from hospitality, estate design, and zoos, to children’s gardens and public parks. Daphne is facile with digital design technologies and is passionate about plants. Outside of work, she enjoys rock climbing, sewing, and exploring the great outdoors.

Beyond his design endeavors, Erik is a committed ski-mountaineer, sailor, and gardener. His creativity and passion for the landscape guide his work.

Monica has worked with a wide range of communities across the country and abroad, building spaces that connect, engage, and heal. With a background rooted in art, growing food, and youth activism, Monica pulls from a motley medley of experience in their design work. After managing various public art installations around Seattle they worked in urban design & planning until moving to the Bay Area.

Originally hailing from Illinois, Kyle has lived in the Bay Area for 12 years, lending a diversity of experience and versatility to Plural. His portfolio spans corporate campuses, a BART plaza, high-end residential, institutional projects, and various public works. Outside the office Kyle enjoys spending time in the mountains, traveling around the globe, and writing/recording music. Whether he’s sketching designs or strumming chords, Kyle brings a creative and personal touch to every project.
