Buena Vista Village

The Santa Clara County Housing Authority is working to preserve and rehabilitate existing low-incoming housing at the Buena Vista Village Mobile Home Park in Palo Alto. With all residents having the option to stay, all who choose to will see improved living conditions including all new utilities, new mobile home coaches, affordable apartments, new streetscapes, and new open spaces.

Building on the existing communities’ rich traditions and culture, the common open spaces are imagined to be colorful and joyful, providing the structure for community events and connections. A new park sits at the center of the site connecting a garden walk to a new central plaza and community gathering space. A veggie garden is located near the apartments to provide growing spaces for the residents who have a green thumb and a dog run for the families with furry friends.
